About The Position

The Sales Commission Analyst is responsible for the ongoing execution of sales commission processing for North American Sales Compensation. The role is responsible for incentive commission processing, reporting and case management for the sales organization. Works independently and cross-functionally within Sales Operations, Human Resources, Finance and Payroll teams. The North American Sales Compensation team is responsible for the sales commission polices and processes for all sales teams in the US and Canada, approximately 3,000 team members. This position is located in Lake Forest, IL hybrid 2-3 days per week in the office; however, remote/virtual candidates may also be considered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience administering sales commissions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications functionality, specifically Excel (e.g. pivot tables, vlookups, advance formulas) and PowerPoint.
  • Experience communicating and influencing different level audiences across an organization.
  • Experience operating and optimizing automated sales commission systems to support accurate incentive processing.
  • Experience analyzing data, identifying issues, and developing solutions.
  • Experience coordinating projects and managing timelines with a focus on driving process improvements.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team environment, while fostering trust and building rapport.
  • Experience creating standard work procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with enterprise data warehouse systems (e.g. Teradata, SQL, Snowflake) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly commission processes for sales and other eligible team members. Ensure accurate calculations aligned with the commission plan, handle exception requests per policy, and provide training and guidance to leaders.
  • Address inquiries and resolve commission-related cases promptly. Communicate regularly with sales leadership and process corrections or adjustments as needed.
  • Evaluate and recommend actions on exception requests and escalations in partnership with sales leadership and compensation teams.
  • Serve as a liaison across business functions and provide backup support for compensation metrics, reporting, accounting schedules, SOX compliance, and commission documentation.
  • Develop and maintain business process documentation and desktop procedures for monthly/quarterly close, audits, and commission accounting tasks.
  • Lead assigned projects, identify process improvement opportunities, and implement enhancements to tools and workflows.
  • Plan and track activities to optimize commission processes, including goal setting, sales compensation, ROI analysis, and program sustainment.
  • Facilitate communication between Sales Operations and field teams, applying problem-solving and strategic thinking to drive adoption.
  • Partner effectively with stakeholders across functions, ensuring clear communication and alignment on initiatives.
