The Sales New Hire Learning Experience Program Manager oversees the new hire learning experience for newly hired sales talent at Johnson Controls. This role ensures each new hire is smoothly registered, properly supported, and actively engaged throughout the full learning journey—from Day 1 through core program milestones. Working closely with program partners and field leaders, this role manages new hire learning processes, oversees program logistics, facilitates key sessions, monitors progress, and drives continuous improvement. Requirements include strong organizational and facilitation skills, experience coordinating learning programs, the ability to manage data and insights, and comfort working in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment. This role is central to establishing a strong foundation for new sales team members—supporting their early development, engagement, and long-term success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Instructional Design, Education, Adult Learning, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years in new hire learning, training delivery, program coordination, sales enablement, or similar roles.
  • 4+ years in training development, facilitation, or high touch program management.
  • Flexible: Comfortable navigating ambiguity; able to shift priorities quickly to meet business needs.
  • Detailed: Strong attention to detail to ensure consistent and high quality new hire learning experiences.
  • Collaborative: Builds strong partnerships with program managers, trainers, and business stakeholders.
  • Ambitious: Proactively takes ownership, drives improvements, and sets clear goals.

  • Technical Knowledge: Ability to quickly understand JCI’s product and solutions landscape; familiarity with HVAC, Fire, Security, or building systems a plus.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 30% (primarily for Week 2 in person new hire learning).

Responsibilities

  • New Hire Registration & New hire learning Coverage Oversee frontend new hire learning registration using automated enrollment processes. Actively verify and monitor enrollment to ensure all new hires are accurately captured; proactively follow up on any missing participants. Confirm the correct new hire persona is assigned to each learning experience to ensure tailored program alignment.
  • First Two Week Experience Ownership Facilitate the Day 1 new hire session every Monday (90minute virtual session). Facilitate, coordinate and manage the full Week 2 in person new hire learning experience in Milwaukee (MKE), including curriculum flow, presenter alignment, session quality, and onsite logistics. Partner with stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and impactful experience that sets new hires up for success.
  • Facilitation Responsibilities Facilitate Welcome week twice/month, couple introductory sales skills sessions and welcome to In-field support network sessions. Model best in class facilitation practices and adapt delivery style to the audience, content, and learning environment. Ensure learning environments—virtual and in‑person—are execution‑ready, partnering with internal teams to support seamless delivery across sessions and milestones
  • Program Milestones & Feedback Loops Own and manage structured program milestones, including surveys, check ins, and progress touchpoints. Interpret survey data and synthesize insights into clear, actionable recommendations. Provide timely updates to key internal stakeholders, highlighting trends, opportunities, and needs within the new hire population.
  • Learning Progress & Metrics Track and monitor learning progress throughout the full new hire learning journey, ensuring new hires remain on pace with program requirements. Maintain and report core program metrics, trends, and engagement insights. Use data to identify gaps, escalate risks, and guide program improvements.
  • Field Support Partner Enablement Ensure each new hire is assigned an infield support partner according to program design. Track and verify assignments, following up on any missing or delayed connections. Monitor engagement signals and proactively check on new hires who may lack adequate support, escalating when necessary.
  • Learning Design, Evaluation & Coaching Contribute to the design, evolution, and maintenance of new hire learning content, partnering with subject matter experts and learning designers to ensure materials remain current, relevant, and aligned to business priorities Evaluate learning effectiveness using structured feedback, progress data, and performance signals, synthesizing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement and stakeholder update Provide targeted coaching and feedback to new hires during facilitated sessions and milestone touchpoints, reinforcing skill application and identifying early support needs. Build and maintain working knowledge of JCI’s sales methodologies, tools, and solution landscape to facilitate with credibility and effectively partner with field leaders and support networks.
  • Learning and Development Team Member Collaborate closely within a strong global Learning & Development team environment. Use innovative learning technologies and platforms—including the Johnson Controls Learning Hub, LMS, and uLearn—to deploy and track learning experiences. Stay current on learning design, new hire learning trends, and field based operational needs; continuously improve program components and methods. Work flexibly across time zones and partner closely with global team members to synchronize deliverables and development cycles.
