About The Position

Sales Manager (Rio Tinto Services Inc., Chicago, IL) Contribute to the North America Rio Tinto Aluminum sales strategy for value added products to optimize the position through a mix of long-term and short-term sales contracts with customers and distributors. Meet revenue targets and key performance indicators, and project sales volume and margin for existing and new products. Develop strong and professional relationship with key customers. Develop long term business developmental opportunities. Lead or participate in large contract negotiation. Pursue spot market opportunities for new customers. Develop trading strategies. Pursue 3rd party sourcing opportunities that align with overall product strategy. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week. Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, $203,923.00 per year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Law, Legal Studies, Finance or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience within the aluminum and metals industry in commodity sales, manufacturing, and supply chain management.
  • 5 years of experience in Aluminum Trading
  • Aluminum value added products
  • Experience generating new sales through product development cycles, market expansion, or identification of new business opportunities
  • Leading projects from inception to contract negotiation and execution
  • Negotiating high value, complex global deals involving multiple products and several internal and external stakeholders
  • Supply chain management
  • Marketing
  • 2 years of experience in managing teams of 1 to 3 people.
  • International travel required up to 10%
  • Domestic travel required up to 50%.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
