About The Position

Tom Wood is seeking a resultsdriven Sales Manager to lead and develop a highperforming sales team while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This is a handson leadership role for someone who thrives on accountability, coaching, and driving both volume and profitability. Our Sales Managers lead from the front—working the desk, supporting the team, and ensuring every customer interaction reflects Tom Wood values. The Tom Wood Group is excited to announce our newest location opening in Whitestown in November 2026—and we’re building our team now! Why Whitestown? Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in automotive sales
  • Proven track record of success in a highvolume dealership environment
  • Strong closing and CRM skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and hold teams accountable
  • Financial and analytical aptitude, including discounts, commissions, interest, and profitability analysis
  • Excellent customer service history and commitment to ethical selling
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and manage the sales team to maximize sales volume, profitability, and customer satisfaction
  • Actively desk deals, manage customer turnovers, and support sales consultants throughout the entire sales process
  • Partner with the General Manager and Finance team to achieve monthly and annual sales targets
  • Analyze and manage P&L performance to ensure strong store profitability
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Sales Consultants, F&I Managers, and future sales leaders
  • Monitor and improve CSI scores, conversion rates, and department KPIs
  • Assist with newvehicle inventory management, pricing strategies, and merchandising
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer programs, dealership policies, and ethical sales practices
  • Maintain a visible, engaged presence on the showroom floor
