About The Position

J&J Truck Equipment is seeking a Sales Manager who is responsible for leading and growing the facility's parts and inside sales operations while aligning with the company-wide sales strategy. This role reports directly to the General Manager of Truck Equipment for daily execution and operational performance and has functional reporting to the VP of Sales to ensure consistency with corporate sales objectives, pricing strategy, and performance standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Safely perform duties; wear required PPE when appropriate. Observes and complies with all the provisions of the ISO 9001 QMS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Sales, Marketing, Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of sales leadership experience, preferably in truck equipment, manufacturing, parts, or distribution.
  • Demonstrated experience managing inside sales and/or parts sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of sales operations, pricing discipline, and customer service best practices.
  • Proficiency with ERP and CRM systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Parts Sales and Truck Equipment Sales team to achieve facility and company sales goals.
  • Execute facility-level sales plans aligned with the enterprise-wide sales strategy set by the VP of Sales.
  • Establish sales targets, priorities, and accountability measures in partnership with the General Manager.
  • Oversee daily parts and sales activities, including quoting, order processing, inventory coordination, and customer follow-up.
  • Ensure sales processes are efficient, accurate, and compliant with company pricing and margin standards.
  • Contact vendors to secure pricing on plows, spreaders, hydraulic systems, tarp systems, toolboxes, and ancillary accessories and equipment that must be sourced.
  • Coordinate closely with service, production, purchasing, and warehouse teams to support on-time delivery and customer expectations.
  • Support inventory planning efforts to align parts availability with sales demand.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers, fleet accounts, and distributors.
  • Handle escalated customer issues in coordination with the General Manager when necessary.
  • Ensure consistent customer communication and high-quality sales experience.
  • Directly supervises Inside Sales Representatives and Parts Representatives.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Assists with the interviewing and hiring of departmental employees.
  • Responsible (in conjunction with the General Manager) for training and developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
