About The Position

As we continue to expand, Auburn Hospitality is seeking an experienced Director of Sales to lead the sales strategy for our key market properties. OVERVIEW The Director of Sales is responsible for developing and executing top-line revenue strategies for key hotel segments, including group and volume transient markets, while overseeing sales synergies across assigned properties. This role requires staying ahead of market trends, analyzing competitive landscapes, and ensuring that revenue and market share targets are met or exceeded. The Director of Sales also manages marketing communications initiatives to position the hotel effectively and oversees the sales and marketing budget to support revenue goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years as a Director of Sales, preferably with hotel experience.
  • Experience overseeing sales for multiple properties preferred.
  • Experience communicating with ownership groups and asset management.
  • Proficient in sales automation systems (DELPHI, STS, or equivalent) and PMS systems.
  • Strong understanding of all market segments and distribution channels, with the ability to develop strategic plans.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive revenue for group, volume transient, and other key sales segments for the primary hotel.
  • Monitor market trends, market share, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Develop and implement marketing communications plans to position the hotel in the market.
  • Manage the sales and marketing budget to support revenue objectives.
  • Act as the hotel’s voice of the customer and communicate key issues at all organizational levels.
  • Analyze Smith Travel Research (STR) data, P&L statements, sales forecasts, group pace, and other reporting tools to inform strategy.
  • Conduct competitive set reviews, SWOT analyses, and monitor new supply in the market.
  • Develop and implement key segment strategies, manage key accounts, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Design effective sales deployment plans and market assignments.
  • Establish sales goals to achieve budget and market share targets.
  • Manage group pace measurement and set production goals.
  • Coordinate sales activities, including travel schedules and client meetings.
