About The Position

The purpose of the Sales Manager is to sell and coordinate group and social programs, including, but not limited to company meetings, day meetings, social celebrations, weddings, and reunions and to drive additional revenue for the hotel. This role serves as the primary liaison between the hotel and clients throughout the planning process. As a key member of the property leadership team, the Sales Manager is accountable for revenue generation and overall sales performance. Reporting to the Director of Sales, this position upholds the highest standards of ethical leadership while driving the hotel toward its business and financial objectives.

Requirements

  • Experience with Delphi, MeetingBroker, OnQ PMS or PEP required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Management, or a related field
  • Prior hospitality sales and event planning experience required
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Hotel Sales Coordinator or Sales Manager
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English
  • Sufficient education and literacy to read product labels and communicate clearly with guests regarding job-related needs
  • Detail oriented and thorough
  • Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests
  • Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards
  • Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant friendly way
  • Ability to knowledgably operate Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities

  • Pursue, qualify, and convert new and existing event sales opportunities to meet or exceed revenue goals
  • Sell and coordinate social and group events including weddings, social celebrations, rehearsal dinners, and meetings
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for event clients from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up
  • Execute billing from initial deposits to final invoices
  • Create, manage, and execute short- and long-term event plans in alignment with client expectations
  • Develop and manage event budgets; handle invoicing and financial accuracy
  • Construct detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) that clearly communicate client requirements to operations teams
  • Create detailed resumes the communicate the entire booking specifications to other team members and departments
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of event menus, packages, pricing, and available hotel spaces
  • Brainstorm, develop, and implement creative event concepts and ideas to enhance guest experience and revenue
  • Conduct site tours and provide detailed insight into hotel locations, amenities, and event capabilities
  • Liaise effectively between clients, internal departments, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless communication
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with outside vendors to support event execution as needed
  • Create and execute strategic sales action plans and sales proposals
  • Skillfully respond to incoming leads and maximize conversion across all lead sources
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts in accordance with approved company guidelines
  • Analyze business opportunities and market trends to maximize profitability
  • Maintain accurate and complete records in sales software, including all significant client communications
  • Establish on-site client contact during events and introduce clients to service and operations staff
  • Order and coordinate Food & Beverage requirements and manage event details on event days
  • Follow up with clients after each function to ensure satisfaction and generate repeat business
  • Attend community and networking events to promote the hotel and generate new business
  • Prepare and distribute promotional and marketing materials, group resumes, and related documentation
  • Conduct oneself professionally at all times as a representative of the hotel and sales team
  • Collaborate with and support other sales team members to achieve departmental and hotel goals
  • Remain informed of daily hotel operations impacting sales and events
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales, or the General Manager
