Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in sales, commercial operations, inventory management, or supply-chain-related roles within oil & gas, industrial equipment, or capital equipment environments.
  • Proven experience negotiating commercial agreements and closing non-standard or value-based sales transactions.
  • Strong understanding of inventory economics, pricing strategies, and margin trade-offs.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, including domestic and occasional international travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with capital equipment, aftermarket parts, or drilling equipment.
  • Familiarity with SLOB reduction strategies, working capital optimization, or inventory disposition programs.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and inventory reporting tools.
  • Established customer relationships within drilling contractors, operators, or service companies.

Responsibilities

  • Own the commercial strategy for reducing Canrig’s SLOB inventory through external sales, internal redeployment, and alternative disposition channels.
  • Identify, prioritize, and manage SLOB inventory opportunities in coordination with Supply Chain, Product Lines, and Operations.
  • Develop targeted sales plans for aged, excess, discontinued, or obsolete inventory by region, customer segment, or product family.
  • Engage customers directly to position SLOB inventory as value-driven solutions, including discounting strategies, bundling, and special commercial terms where appropriate.
  • Coordinate with regional and global sales teams to align SLOB opportunities with active customer demand and upcoming projects.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and contract structures in alignment with margin recovery and inventory reduction goals.
  • Partner with Finance to track recovery value, write-down avoidance, and impact to working capital.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of SLOB sales activity, pipeline, and inventory disposition status.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership on SLOB reduction progress, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support customer visits, site meetings, and field engagement as needed to close transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, export controls, and commercial governance standards.
