About The Position

The C. Harper Auto Group is currently seeking an Experienced and Passionate Sales Manager to lead our high-performing team at our Chevrolet & Cadillac dealership . As part of our growing organization of over 400 employees, you’ll be stepping into a key leadership role with a company that has proudly served the Greater Pittsburgh and Tri-State Areas for over 41 years. The ideal candidate is a seasoned automotive leader with a passion for driving results, a commitment to team development, and a dedication to delivering exceptional customer care. Chevrolet or General Motors (GM) brand experience is strongly preferred , but not required.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of automotive sales management experience with a proven track record of success.
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and hold team members accountable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with both staff and customers.
  • Experience in performance coaching and conflict resolution.
  • Deep understanding of the automotive sales process, customer engagement strategies, and digital tools.
  • Familiarity with OEM programs, financing, trade-in evaluation, and deal structuring.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, VAuto, Eleads CRM platform, and CDK(DMS) preferred
  • Comfortable analyzing sales data to make informed, data-driven decisions.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required.

Nice To Haves

  • Chevrolet or GM dealership experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development Lead, train, and motivate a team of Sales Consultants to achieve individual and departmental goals.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-energy environment focused on performance, growth, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance reviews.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with GM programs and dealership objectives.
  • Monitor daily sales activity, manage the sales funnel, and implement action plans to exceed targets.
  • Collaborate with marketing on promotions and Chevrolet-specific advertising campaigns.
  • Customer Relationship Management Ensure a seamless, customer-first experience from initial contact through vehicle delivery.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Support Sales Consultants in presenting new and pre-owned vehicles, with an emphasis on features, technology, and value.
  • Operational & Inventory Management Oversee daily showroom operations with a focus on efficiency, professionalism, and excellence.
  • Manage inventory levels and work with purchasing to maintain the ideal vehicle mix.
  • Ensure compliance with GM programs, dealership policies, and local/state regulations.
  • Financial Performance Develop department budgets and track monthly sales forecasts, P&L, and gross margins.
  • Implement strategies to grow revenue and profitability while managing costs effectively.
  • Deliver performance reports to senior leadership on a regular basis.
