About The Position

The Sales Manager- Europe position will lead commercial growth for Sunsweet Dried Fruit & Juice portfolio across Europe. This role is responsible for managing and expanding relationships with key distributors, retail partners, and strategic customers to deliver volume, profit, and brand growth objectives. The ideal candidate brings deep CPG market experience, strong distributor management skills, and the ability to translate brand and trade strategy into local market execution. Requirements

  • Deep understanding of retail and distribution channels, category management, and trade marketing.
  • Strong negotiation, financial acumen, and forecasting skills.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally in a matrixed, global organization.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages (German, Spanish, Italian, or Dutch) are a strong plus.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Skilled relationship builder, comfortable engaging with distributors, buyers, and senior executives.
  • Data-driven decision-maker with a practical, hands-on approach to execution.
  • Adaptable, culturally aware, and capable of operating independently while aligning to global strategy.
  • Year-over-year sales and distribution growth.
  • Expansion of market coverage and new customer acquisition.
  • Improved forecast accuracy and trade investment ROI.
  • Distributor performance and alignment with brand objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive sales experience in the CPG industry
  • Ability to travel up to 30% across Europe.
  • Onsite in Yuba City

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow sales across assigned European markets through effective distributor and key customer management.
  • Develop annual business plans with each distributor, including sales targets, promotional calendars, pricing strategies, and joint marketing initiatives.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, trade programs, and new product listings with distributors and retail partners.
  • Manage demand planning and forecasting accuracy in collaboration with supply chain and finance.
  • Identify new business opportunities, channels, and partnerships to expand brand reach and market share. Opportunities include both Branded & Private Label.
  • Drive best-in-class execution across retail, ingredients, and foodservice channels.
  • Monitor competitive landscape, pricing, category trends, and market dynamics to inform commercial strategies.
  • Ensure brand consistency and compliance with marketing and regulatory requirements across markets.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, and operations to adapt initiatives for local market relevance.
  • Serve as the primary contact for European distributors; conduct quarterly business reviews and continuous performance tracking.
  • Evaluate distributor capabilities and recommend improvements or changes where needed.
  • Support training and enablement to ensure distributors are aligned with brand positioning, product knowledge, and trade marketing standards.
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly sales performance reports, forecasts, and insights to Senior Director of International Sales & VP, Global Marketing & Sales.
  • Contribute to long-term regional planning, budgeting, and market prioritization.
  • Provide input on pricing strategy, trade spend allocation, and product innovation needs based on market feedback.
