About The Position

Sales Logistics contributes to the Driscoll’s Mission by supporting Sales and Supply Chain programs which improve product condition, service reliability, and balance cost with the value we provide. The Sales Logistics Manager is focused on external stakeholders and representing Customer operational needs through Supply Chain focused initiatives. This role is responsible for creating visibility of customer needs and requirements within Driscoll’s and influences our customers towards preferred supply chain solutions. This role will collaborate across departments including Distribution, Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, Transportation, and Quality Assurance to review and actively manage business process in order to lead, plan and support the ongoing success of our Customer logistics programs and the handling of Driscoll’s product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • English language proficiency
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Sales or Supply Chain roles within food and beverage industries, produce industry experience is preferred
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to create Dashboards and provide business insight from Tableau. Experience using Signavio or Microsoft Visio. Experience working in Order Management and/or ERP systems
  • A high degree of analytical proficiency, effective communication, proficiency with business software, and orientation towards business process is required for this role
  • Exceptional presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate and influence the opinions of others within the business unit and in external organizations, exercising sensitivity to the audience
  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to do multiple tasks and solve problems with a sense of urgency
  • Must be willing to travel as needed and work in a cold storage environment in order to conduct distribution site visits

  • Ability to lead process improvement initiatives to advance Sales Logistics functional priorities
  • Technical expertise in logistics systems appropriate for fresh berries including but not limited to transportation, warehouse distribution, and post-harvest handling throughout the supply chain

Responsibilities

  • Maintain visibility to Customer sales strategies and logistics activities in order to meet Customer supply chain requirements.
  • Lead the advancement of Customer participation in Supply Chain programs, support customer participation related planning, and provide timely updates to internal and external stakeholders on program results
  • Represent the Sales Team’s needs from a customer and/or operational perspective on Supply Chain programs ensuring Commercial strategies and customer requirements are accounted for
  • Develop documentation of Customer supply chain requirements and ensure these requirements are understood cross functionally, including mapping of processes that support Customer requirements. Maintain up to date SOP’s and process maps in Signavio and the Teams collaboration platform
  • Plan and implement systemic service item price changes such as pallets, temperature recorders, and special services to achieve planned service item revenue. Ensure system testing is completed successfully and service item system configuration meets customer and channel specific requirements. Manage pricing implementation from planning and testing through communication and post implementation analysis
  • Ensure service item transaction accuracy. Create and manage reporting that provides visibility to pricing exceptions. Recommend improvements to business process and process execution as needed to improve service item transactional accuracy
  • Leads, plans and supports Customer related supply chain pilot programs such as product traceability, temperature studies, and trial of new logistics and service item options
  • Develop and provide month-end executive summaries of service item margin results. Obtain information as needed from the Sales channels to explain business drivers impacting service margin results. Provide mid-month updates as needed
  • Support the creation of service revenue Annual Operating Plans by incorporating Customer go-to-market plans into a service revenue financial forecast. Review historical data as needed and incorporate forward looking strategies to provide recommended Annual Operating Plan service revenue targets
  • Responsible for managing activities in collaboration with Sales Channels, Sales and Operations Planning, and Transportation to accomplish planned growth
  • Contributes to the Business Unit’s people priorities and objectives regarding: people leader effectiveness, engaged employees, and enabling others to perform
  • Domestic and international travel required, up to 25%
  • Represents Driscoll’s in an ethical and business-like professional manner in all interactions with growers, co-workers, suppliers, customers and the business community at large
