About The Position

Baker Tilly’s Learning and Development team is seeking a dynamic Instructional Designer to lead the creation and measurement of sales education programs that drive business development success. This role combines instructional design expertise with analytical skills to develop impactful learning experiences and assess their effectiveness across our sales organization. The ideal candidate will have expertise in curriculum development, skill assessment, and instructional design methodologies tailored for a sales audience.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience: 5+ years in instructional design, preferably in sales enablement or corporate training.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment with minimal oversight.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ideally with experience as a content creator or facilitator.
  • Experience creating skill assessments and competency frameworks.
  • Expertise in adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, Systematic Learning, Bob Pike).
  • Experience leading train-the-trainer sessions.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in measuring training effectiveness and ROI.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce), sales methodologies (Challenger, SPIN), and remote learning strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development: Design, develop, and implement structured learning paths for Baker Tilly business developers and principals.
  • Skill Assessment: Create and manage a comprehensive approach to assess sales knowledge and skills, identify gaps and track improvement.
  • Content Creation: Develop engaging training materials, including e-learning modules, presentations, and blended learning programs (self-study, virtual, and in-person).
  • Sales Methodology Integration: Incorporate best practices from leading sales methodologies into training programs and enablement content.
  • Program Planning: Establish clear learning objectives, create project plans, and manage a rolling curriculum calendar for continuous learning opportunities.
  • Instructional Design: Select methods and technologies that maximize relevance, retention, and learner engagement for remote-first environments.
  • Enablement Tools: Enhance sales enablement platforms (e.g. Highspot) with learning resources, messaging guides, discovery questions, objection handling, and sales plays.
  • Impact Measurement: Analyze and report on the effectiveness of business development-related learning initiatives using data-driven insights.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze learner feedback and performance data to refine curriculum and improve learning outcomes.
  • Program Communication: Develop communication plans and content to ensure visibility and adoption of enablement programs.
