About The Position

The Sales Engineer (SE) is a key driver of sales performance and revenue growth, serving as a technical advisor and strategic partner to business customers. This role combines deep technical expertise with consultative selling skills to identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities in enterprise telephony, physical security, and IT solutions. The SE works closely with the sales team to design and present high-value solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes, ensuring profitability and market competitiveness.

Requirements

  • Proven success in technical sales or sales engineering, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
  • Strong consultative selling skills and ability to influence decision-makers.
  • Ability to translate technical solutions into clear business and financial benefits.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Understanding competitive market dynamics and ability to position solutions for maximum impact.
  • Must be organized with attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction.
  • Knowledge of Company policies and procedures.
  • Achievement of sales goals and revenue targets.
  • Growth in new project acquisition and upsell opportunities.
  • Contribution to profit margins through accurate solution design and pricing.
  • Minimum two years' experience in sales engineering or technical sales within telephony, physical security, or IT.
  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Science or Engineering; or Associate's degree in Technology, Science or Engineering, plus five years in product sales, product development/delivery, or product engineering.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, and maintain a valid South Dakota driver's license, have an excellent driving record, and be insurable under the Company's insurance policy.

Responsibilities

  • Revenue Generation: Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities, leveraging technical expertise to convert prospects into long-term customers.
  • Sales Enablement: Partner with the sales team to develop proposals, quotes, and solution designs that maximize profitability and customer value.
  • Consultative Selling: Engage with decision-makers to uncover business challenges and position technology solutions that drive operational efficiency and ROI.
  • Solution Architecture: Design scalable, cost-effective solutions aligned with customer objectives and market trends.
  • Customer Engagement: Deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations that clearly articulate the business impact and financial benefits of proposed solutions.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of industry trends to recommend innovative solutions that differentiate the company and expand market share. Obtain and maintain relevant certifications.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with sales, managed services, and delivery teams to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships to generate repeat business and referrals.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by Management.
