About The Position

A Sales Engineer performs customer sales and service activities for a defined area focusing on iD product and core lines to enhance company profitability and growth. The Sales Engineer manages, services, and develops a successful sales territory leveraging internal and external resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Two or more years of experience in sales
  • Demonstrated knowledge of costing, pricing, sales practices, and techniques
  • Familiar with technical product applications, demonstrations, and customer relations
  • Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of industrial automation products is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Successfully develop and accomplish your defined sales plan in consultation with your manager and use of appropriate sales systems and tools.
  • Utilize promotions, campaigns, and business contacts to seek out prospective accounts; introduce company and product; establish and cultivate a contact; analyze prospect's needs and potential sales volume.
  • Engage in extensive on-site customer contact to conduct sales and service activities.
  • Develop strong sales positions; introduce new products, identify product applications, and keep account informed of product developments.
  • Prepare quotations and proposal, follow up and negotiate terms, and close the transaction.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and the company’s departments and associates.
  • Requires in-person customer interaction.
  • Organize and conduct training sessions for customers; survey market and competitive conditions; complete itineraries, expense, sales calls, lead and other related reports and records; deliver orders as necessary.
  • Monitor customer complaints, follow up on outstanding orders, and make emergency calls, night calls, and deliveries as required.
  • Work with supplier representatives in local contacts with customers; call and collect past-due accounts when necessary; keep abreast of customer plant equipment to ensure prompt response to potential needs.
  • Responsible for procedures to ensure that transactions are executed in accordance with general or specific authorization.
  • Maintain accurate, complete and timely records of business transactions.
  • Work closely with other departments or divisions on matters of mutual concern and responsibilities.
