About The Position

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As an Inside Sales Engineer, you will provide technical assistance, sales support, sales follow-up, and compelling quotations to our external customers. In addition, this position will support Quality and Process improvements, as well as assist other business functions when technical expertise is required.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a technical sales or support role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain customer relationships
  • Call on management representatives such as engineers, architects, or other professional and technical personnel at commercial, industrial, and other establishments and attempts to convince prospective client of desirability and practicability of products or services offered.
  • Work with factory direct or outside sales representatives on the preparation and/or presentation of pricing, technical information, proposals and related documents for the purpose of obtaining customer purchase orders.
  • Manage assigned product lines, geographic region, OEM or key accounts as defined by sales management.
  • Perform quoting activity for customer
  • Review blueprints, plans, specifications, and other customer documents to develop and prepare cost estimates or establish pricing of the proposed equipment or services
  • Provide technical services to clients relating to use, operation, and maintenance of equipment
  • Provide technical training to field sales personnel
  • Be product expert and continually looking to enhance the company’s products
  • Recommend solutions, designs, alterations or application of company’s products or services to satisfy the needs of the customer in keeping with company objectives.
  • Liaison between sales, engineering, manufacturing, quality and production control on all issues regarding the customer’s placement of or intent to place purchase orders.
  • Report competitive or commercial issues relating to company’s products or services to management
  • Present the company, to outside agencies, in a manner consistent with the standards of the company
  • Participate in all other duties as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department or organization
