About The Position

We’re hiring a Sales Engineer to support Rocket.Chat’s US territory. In this role, you’ll combine deep technical and product expertise with a consultative, sales-driven mindset to support prospects, customers, and channel partners. You’ll act as a trusted advisor by leveraging success plans, strong product knowledge, and a deep understanding of each customer’s business and technical requirements. This is an opportunity to work on high-impact, enterprise-level initiatives, supporting governments and public sector organizations with mission-critical communication solutions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in technical pre-sales or Sales Engineering roles within enterprise software environments.
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical and business concepts.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering customer training, product demonstrations, and executive-level presentations.
  • Strong ability to communicate and engage with enterprise executives and senior decision-makers.
  • Passion for technology and sales, with a consultative, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Proven capability to lead in-depth discussions around business and technical requirements, value-based selling, and solution design through demonstrations and proof-of-concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and administering UNIX/Linux-based systems.
  • Working knowledge of both relational and non-relational database technologies, including prior experience with MongoDB.
  • Experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Familiarity with identity and access management solutions, including Active Directory and LDAP.
  • Willingness and availability to travel as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with open-source business models.
  • Experience supporting or selling mission-critical SaaS platforms in enterprise or regulated environments.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript and other programming or scripting languages.
  • Prior military experience and/or an active U.S. security clearance (or eligibility to obtain one) is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Owning and executing key pre-sales activities including technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept (PoC) engagements.
  • Partner closely with Account Executives to jointly own the sales cycle, account strategy, and technical success of assigned opportunities.
  • Install, support, and maintain Rocket.Chat solutions during proof-of-concept deployments to ensure technical success and customer confidence.
  • Develop and deliver technical content in response to RFPs, RFIs, and other formal procurement processes.
  • Engage in infrastructure and architecture discussions to define appropriate system designs based on each customer’s technology landscape and operational requirements.
  • Drive deeper and broader engagement within accounts by identifying additional use cases, alternative solutions, internal sponsors, and opportunities that require collaboration with other customer teams or internal Rocket.Chat stakeholders.
  • Elicit, document, and analyze customer business and technical requirements, translating them into value-based proposals that address key business drivers and pain points—guiding opportunities toward both a technical close and a business win.
  • Act as a liaison with Product Management by communicating market feedback, feature requests, and emerging customer needs from prospects and existing customers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the partner ecosystem by collaborating with the Channel Sales team to support joint opportunities.
  • Enable and train partners on Rocket.Chat products and solutions, ensuring they are equipped to support opportunities through technical validation and closure.
