We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Sales Engineer to join our Centrifugal Chiller Business Team. The Sales Engineer, Centrifugal Chillers role is critical to supporting the Division’s market entry and delivering advanced cooling solutions to major clients with large-scale HVAC and refrigeration needs such as data centers, automotive plants, semiconductor facilities, electronics factories, petrochemical plants, pharmaceutical sites, commercial complexes, hospitals, and airports. The Sales Engineer will combine technical expertise with customer engagement to provide tailored solutions, conduct feasibility analysis, and support strategic sales initiatives. The role will collaborate closely with multiple internal stakeholders and engineering teams in Japan and the U.S., as well as our customers to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have at least a Minimum 10 years of experience in technical sales or engineering within HVAC, refrigeration, or related sectors.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in technical sales or engineering within HVAC, refrigeration, or related sectors.
  • Proven experience in delivering cooling solutions using centrifugal chillers in the North American market.
  • Strong technical knowledge of centrifugal chillers, HVAC products, and cooling systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction and cross-cultural collaboration.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into practical solutions.
  • Familiarity with U.S. regulations, energy efficiency standards, refrigerant trends, and industry guidelines.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Strong commitment to compliance with laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (MBA or master’s in engineering or related discipline).
  • Professional certifications related to HVAC or industrial cooling (e.g., ASHRAE membership, PMP).
  • Familiarity with multicultural business environments and cross-cultural communication.
  • Established network within the HVAC and industrial cooling ecosystem.
  • Experience working in a global environment and collaborating with overseas teams.
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE, AHRI standards, and UL certification processes.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Leadership experience in mentoring and supporting team members.
  • Native-level English proficiency; Japanese language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support strategic sales activities by providing technical expertise during customer engagements, including specification review, feasibility assessments, and solution optimization.
  • Collaborate with Senior Sales Executives to develop proposals that meet customer requirements and project objectives.
  • Conduct technical evaluations and performance analysis to ensure compliance with U.S. standards and customer expectations.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and engineering/manufacturing teams in Japan, facilitating clear communication and timely execution.
  • Gather and analyze customer requirements and competitive intelligence to inform product customization and new product development.
  • Assist in technical presentations and represent the company at industry events when required.
  • Promote sustainability and contribute to knowledge sharing by mentoring junior team members and fostering cross-cultural collaboration.
