Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will support the design, development, and qualification of oil-free centrifugal compressors for HVACR systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside product and design engineers in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a related field and three (3) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Practical, hands-on experience working with mechanical equipment and basic instrumentation.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
  • Hands-on expertise in mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing equipment.
  • Tool and die experience.
  • Familiarity with controls systems and basic PLC concepts.
  • Experience with brazing and soldering techniques.
  • Background or certifications in automotive or diesel mechanics.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test centrifugal compressors following detailed engineering build instructions.
  • Operate laboratory assembly and measurement equipment, including hydraulic presses, micrometers, torque wrenches, pressure gauges, voltage meters, and standard hand tools.
  • Fabricate supporting components for non-standard tests, including brazing, soldering, grinding, sanding/lapping, drilling/tapping, and wiring.
  • Collect and document build data to ensure compliance with standards and takt times.
  • Assist with general laboratory upkeep and maintenance.
