We're looking for a highly accomplished and results-driven Sales Director with deep expertise in programmatic advertising and strong relationships within the agency world. Our innovative Curation offering has seen remarkable success in a short time, and we're expanding our team to drive significant growth in the programmatic advertising landscape. About the Team We're in an accelerated phase of growth, specifically focused on replacing third-party data on the open web through our innovative Curation solution. As a Sales Director, you'll have a direct path to exceeding significant media spend targets on the Permutive platform across a portfolio of agencies. Your strategic acumen in promoting the curation and activation of bespoke audiences will directly contribute to our industry-defining mission.

Requirements

  • Proven Sales Success: Extensive experience and a track record of success in digital, mobile, programmatic, and/or audience data advertising sales, coupled with strong existing relationships with media agencies in the US.
  • Adaptability: The ability to manage ambiguity in a changing ecosystem and adapt positioning and messaging to market needs, particularly around the evolving landscape of data curation and privacy-centric advertising.
  • Hunter Mentality: A self-starter mentality with a proactive "hunter" approach, able to work independently yet collaboratively within a dynamic team.
  • Complex Account Management: Experience managing large budgets and complex campaigns with multiple stakeholders.
  • Results-Oriented: Demonstrated success in a goal-oriented, highly accountable sales environment.
  • Programmatic Expertise: Deep expertise in the programmatic ecosystem, including ad exchanges, DSPs, SSPs, and data providers, with a strong understanding of how data is curated for programmatic activation.
  • Audience Strategy: Deep understanding of audience segmentation, targeting strategies, and digital measurement (including MMM, econometrics, and attention metrics), and how these relate to effective audience curation.
  • Exceptional Communicator: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely, especially when discussing audience curation strategies.
  • Relationship Builder: A proven track record of developing lasting relationships with key decision-makers at large media and advertising agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Adoption & Usage: Increase the adoption and usage of Permutive curated audiences among agency trading teams, with a particular emphasis on the curation of custom audience solutions.
  • Pipeline & Revenue Growth: Qualify, build, and meticulously manage an accurate sales pipeline across agencies and brand advertisers, consistently identifying opportunities to expand client relationships and grow programmatic revenue.
  • Proactive Engagement: Maintain a high volume of activity, including outbound calls, emails, in-person sales and education sessions, and social selling, focusing on generating new business and nurturing existing relationships.
  • Trusted Advisor: Become a trusted advisor to your prospects, taking a consultative approach to uncovering business needs for both the agency and its end clients, and demonstrating how Permutive's curation capabilities can address those needs.
  • Programmatic Expert: Serve as the primary programmatic expert for key media agencies and their digital planning and buying teams, providing strategic guidance, audience curation recommendations , and performance insights.
  • Relationship Building: Build strong, lasting relationships with clients based on knowledge, trust, transparency, and exceptional results, particularly around the effectiveness of curated audience segments.
  • Industry Leadership: Stay at the forefront of industry trends and share knowledge with the team to drive continuous improvement, especially regarding audience curation best practices and innovations.
  • Advocacy & Influence: Build advocacy for Permutive and our audiences across agency customer teams, owning relationships with stakeholders up to the Head of Programmatic level, and highlighting our unique curation offerings .
  • Represent Permutive: Attend industry conferences, events, and networking sessions to represent Permutive and expand your professional network.
