About The Position

Roots is seeking a motivated Sales Development Representative to join our growing Marketing team and help businesses leverage AI to drive greater speed, accuracy, and scale. We’re building cutting-edge infrastructure that powers real-time document processing, custom model deployment, and multimodal intelligence, bringing AI from research to production in one of the world’s most critical and fast-moving markets. About the team: This role is a part of our high-performing Sales Development team, that sits between sales and demand generation and acts as the connective tissue that helps to create a smooth and seamless experience for our prospective customers through their buying journey. The SDRs are responsible for creating new opportunities from outbound activities, as well as for executing the leads generated by our marketing peers. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Revenue Operations & Pipeline Growth, and working closely with our sales team to identify, engage with, and qualify new opportunities within our target markets. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Requirements

  • Experience working in inside sales, BDR, or similar experience, preferably selling high-value or technical solutions to enterprise organizations
  • Strong ability to confidently engage and communicate with senior decision-makers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a persuasive, business-oriented approach
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, performance-driven, and technical environment
  • Highly resilient, self-motivated, and able to maintain momentum through rejection and complex buying cycles
  • Experience using CRM tools and maintaining disciplined pipeline hygiene

Nice To Haves

  • Startup experience and comfort working independently in a remote or autonomous environment preferred
  • Prior experience generating meetings with Fortune 1000 or enterprise-level executives a plus

Responsibilities

  • Clearly articulate the value, capabilities, and business impact of our AI platform and solutions to senior leaders across insurance, healthcare and more.
  • Generate new business opportunities through high-volume outbound prospecting processes (cold calling, email, LinkedIn, and other channels)
  • Use research and Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategies to identify, prioritize, and engage target accounts
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads and schedule meetings for Account Executives
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in the CRM, including outreach activity, lead status, and obstacles
  • Manage a high daily volume of outreach while maintaining thoughtful, personalized follow-ups
  • Nurture prospects through consistent, creative follow-up to drive engagement and momentum
  • Consistently meet or exceed weekly and monthly targets for qualified leads and opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales and marketing to optimize messaging and outreach strategies
