About The Position

The Sales Design Engineer supports the sale and execution of XeteX custom air handling equipment by providing engineering design, quoting, and project management support. This role partners closely with Independent Sales Representatives to develop accurate equipment designs and cost estimates during the sales process and serves as the project manager once orders are awarded. From initial design through manufacturing support, shipment, and successful startup, the Sales Design Engineer ensures projects are delivered on time and meet customer requirements. This position also serves as a technical specialist for assigned components and technologies, collaborating with internal teams and vendors to support continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering required. MS preferred.
  • SolidWorks or other CAD software proficiency required.
  • Detail-oriented, ability to plan, organize, set priorities and manage multiple projects.
  • High level of analytical ability required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
  • Ability to travel independently. Travel is infrequent and less than 10%

Responsibilities

  • Provide quotes on equipment designs to support the sales efforts of XeteX’s Independent Sales Representatives. As part of the quoting process, review plans and specs to create a detailed cost estimate and performance approximation.
  • Once a job is won, serve as project manager for the job starting with providing a detailed design submittal, supporting manufacturing with detailed drawings and BOMs, and ensuring an on-time shipment of the equipment. Project completion will happen once the equipment has been successfully started up at the customer’s site.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow engineers to review submittal documents and implement changes to standard processes.
  • Serve as the company specialist on assigned components and technologies. Work with vendors to stay on top of new technologies and their related design requirements for XeteX equipment.
  • Provide support as required on assigned design engineering tools.
  • Review new vendor product offerings and support as needed their implementations into XeteX designs.
  • Participate as needed with Customer visit and presentations.
