About The Position

The Sales Data & Insights Manager’s role is to lead sales analytics and customer insights across the Company’s largest retail and distribution partners. The Sales Data & Insights Manager will lead complex analytical projects that evaluate customer and channel profitability, pricing strategies, promotional ROI, and demand planning. The role will develop and recommend strategic actions that directly inform executive decisions on revenue, margin, and customer strategy and will have full ownership of the analysis and interpretation of enterprise-wide sales data, reporting, insights, and performance analysis. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Analytics, Supply Chain, Economics or a related field
  • 3-7 years of experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods, retail analytics, category management, business intelligence, or financial/sales analytics.
  • Experience working with Point-of-Sale data, syndicated data (Circana/IRI, Nielsen, Numerator, etc.), and/or retail customer portals strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills (modeling, Power Query, advanced formulas, pivot automation).
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) strongly preferred.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and convert it into meaningful, actionable business strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment on matters of significant impact to pricing, customer strategy, and revenue forecasting.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with senior leadership and influence decisions through data-backed recommendations.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary analytical owner for sales performance across top national accounts, expanding over time to include all customers and channels.
  • Design analytical frameworks, choose methodologies, interpret ambiguous or incomplete data, and make recommendations that materially influence commercial outcomes.
  • Own preparation and narrative for executive-level reviews (monthly sales reviews, quarterly business reviews), present findings to the Management Team and customer leadership, and drive adoption of recommended actions.
  • Independently model demand scenarios and recommend operational tradeoffs to key stakeholders (Sales, Supply Chain, Operations) that affect allocation, inventory, and promotional funding.
  • Build dashboards and automated reporting tools that improve decision speed and accuracy; maintain data integrity across systems (this supports the primary duty of strategic recommendation).
  • Exercise judgment in evaluating trends, identifying risks and opportunities, and recommending strategies that influence pricing, forecasting, customer programs, and long-term commercial planning.
  • Analyze customer-provided retail data (POS, portal downloads, scorecards, etc.); where absent, develop analytical models using internal shipment and financial data.
  • Deliver insights that guide the sales team’s approach to customer negotiations, product positioning, distribution gains, and promotional planning.
  • Lead analytical preparation for monthly sales reviews, quarterly business reviews, and executive-level discussions.
  • Partner closely with the VP of Supply Chain, Sales, and Operations to model demand scenarios, identify gaps between demand and supply, and communicate implications.
  • Work independently to evaluate customer program performance and ROI; provide objective recommendations on participation, promotional funding, and assortment optimization.
  • Support the Management Team with strategic analyses related to channel performance, customer profitability, competitive dynamics, and category trends.
  • Develop dashboards, reporting tools, scorecards, and automated processes that elevate visibility, accuracy, and speed of insights throughout the organization.
  • Determine appropriate KPIs, metrics, and analytical methodologies in alignment with strategic business priorities.
  • Maintain data integrity across customer data feeds, internal systems, and Excel-based models.
  • Present findings to customer leadership teams during on-site meetings, presentations, and joint business planning sessions.
  • Communicate insights in a clear, compelling narrative designed to drive action and deepen customer partnerships.
  • Travel as needed (estimated 5–10%) for customer reviews, line reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Work with other team members to complete tasks and achieve department goals.
  • Follow instructions and directions provided by the VP of Supply Chain and/or other members of management.
  • Follow and comply with all company rules and directives.
