About The Position

The Sales Coordinator is an exemplary member of Eastern State’s full-time staff. They demonstrate the ability to deliver excellent customer service. This position will support the Sales operations at Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site and work closely with the Manager, Sales . During Halloween Nights the Sales Coordinator will oversee and manage all aspects of Sales operations onsite related to the show. The Sales Coordinator is positive and supportive of Eastern State and its programs; will assist in training new staff and serves as a role model for all staff members.

Requirements

  • Weekend work, evening work and holiday work are required.
  • 3- 4 years of Sales experience preferably in a museum store
  • At least 3 years of management experience
  • Prior leadership experience required.
  • Proficiency in basic math skills
  • Should be skilled in problem-solving, multitasking and time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain the organization’s commitment to excellent customer service and programming. t
  • Ability to lead, supervise and motivate a team of employees.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to work in space where temperatures may vary to cold and hot
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Working in Eastern State’s Ticket Booth, Sales Areas (such as the Center Pop-Up Store and/or Museum Store)
  • Scan pre-paid tickets, ring tickets and merchandise, greet visitors, help direct visitors and answer their questions, explain various programming options, perform basic cleaning/disinfecting tasks, and uphold safety and security standards.
  • Process refunds in ticketure in person or online
  • Support Sales manager in maintaining appropriate inventory levels once a monthly
  • Occasionally act as the point person for radio communication, emergencies, and frontline daily operations
  • Will oversee and manage all aspects Sales operations onsite related to the show.
  • Prepare the Assistant Sales Manager to function in the Sales Manager role when RM is not on duty,
  • Create a nightly schedule for their staff, work with Senior Managers to fill in any missing positions each night, ensure staff get adequate nightly breaks, make regular rounds through your department, at least once per hour when the show is open to the public, communicate regularly with your staff: pre and post show meetings and regular emails,
  • Review and approve employee time/hours through Paycom
  • Handle discipline and feedback with employees in accordance with company policy
  • Provides exemplary customer service to visitors while role modeling outstanding customer service for frontline staff.
  • Oversee daily operations when Sales manager is not available
  • Be a second point of contact for the Sales team
  • Develop and implement training programs for Sales staff to enhance performance and service quality.
  • Monitor performance of Sales staff addressing issues in real time, and escalating to Sales Manager as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with the United Steelworkers (USW) Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) in day-to-day operations and staff supervision.
  • Cash handling responsibilities include counting a drawer, counting the till, checking staff drawers, executing voids and refunds, processing groups, processing donations, completing closing paperwork, and making bank runs.
