About The Position

The Sales Contract Specialist is responsible for: Serving as primary reviewer for sales and service contracts escalated by Sales teams, ensuring alignment with the Contract Playbook, risk thresholds, and organizational policies while supporting efficiency, consistency, and data integrity across the contract lifecycle. Regularly supporting the reviewing of domestic and international service agreement, institutional contracts, government or public health authority agreements, grant-related service agreements, sponsorship agreements, and other revenue producing contracts with complex compliance indemnity and jurisdictional considerations.

Requirements

  • High attentional to detail with the ability to manage multiple agreements concurrently.
  • Strong written communication and professional judgement when summarizing contract risk issues.
  • Ability to escalate appropriately and collaborate across Sales, Legal, and Operations teams.
  • Strong ability to analyze contract language, especially indemnity, liability, termination and governing law clauses.
  • Paralegal degree or equivalent contracting experience preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in contract administration, legal support, or sales operations.

  • Reviewing service, sponsorship, or institutional agreements preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review sales-side contracts to ensure alignment with CAP Contract Playbook, approved risk positions, and standard templates.
  • Identify deviations in clauses such as indemnification, liability, insurance, governing law, confidentiality, termination rights, and service obligations.
  • Support review of public-sector and international agreement that contain heightened risk profiles, including broad indemnity structures, unilateral termination rights, foreign governing law, and specific performance requirements.
  • Prepare clear escalation summaries for higher level review when agreements exceed approved risk thresholds.
  • Partner with Legal and leadership on high-risk clause interpretation and risk positioning for international and institutional agreements.
  • Help in the development of a Sales Contracting domain within the CLM.
  • Enter and maintain accurate contract records, metadata, and version control in the CLM system
  • Ensure contract routing follow established workflows and required approval paths
  • Monitor contract status, signatures, and pending approvals, follow up with stakeholders as needed
  • Support dashboard updates, trackers, and renewal/expiration alerts
  • Assist in testing workflows adjustments, template uploads and CLM upgrades
  • Maintain and support the evolution of sales contract templates, including service agreements, collaboration agreements, sponsorship agreements, and public-sector contract formats.
  • Assist with clause mapping and comparison between CAP standard language and external contract language.
  • Document recurring risks or clause issues observed in sales or government issued agreements for playbook updates.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Sales teams on contract intake, process steps, and documentation requirements.
  • Assist with internal training and job aids on sales contracting processes and CLM usage.
  • Support process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing cycle time, improving clarity of roles, and enhancing contract tracking accuracy.
