Position Overview: The Emergency Lighting Sales Consultant is responsible for driving sales of emergency lighting and upfit solutions for government and fleet vehicles. This role focuses on building relationships with municipalities, law enforcement agencies, and other government entities, while managing the full sales cycle. Responsibilities range from initial inquiry and quoting to bid support and final delivery. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable navigating government purchasing processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive sales and/or service.
  • Experience with emergency lighting systems and government vehicles is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication, verbal and written.
  • Proficient in sales techniques.
  • Must be highly organized.

Responsibilities

  • Working with customers to create emergency lighting quotes.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow emergency lighting and upfit business within government and fleet accounts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with law enforcement agencies, municipalities, and other public sector clients
  • Prepare accurate and competitive quotes for emergency lighting systems, vehicle upfits, and related equipment
  • Assist in the preparation, submission, and follow-up of government bids, RFPs, and contracts
  • Collaborate with internal team (parts, service, and installation/upfit) to ensure seamless project execution
  • Maintain a strong understanding of emergency lighting products, vehicle configurations, and industry standards
  • Track leads, opportunities, and sales activity within CRM systems
  • Monitor bid opportunities and proactively identify new business with government agencies
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable purchasing guidelines, contracts, and regulations
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the entire sales and delivery process
  • Attend trade shows to attract business
