About The Position

The Sales Assistant supports the Sales Department in maintaining existing business relationships and pursuing new sales opportunities. This position assists in coordinating sales activities, preparing materials, and providing administrative and customer support to help achieve company sales goals. The Sales Assistant plays an important role in ensuring smooth communication between sales, marketing, operations, and customers.

Requirements

  • Understanding of basic foodservice business and supply chain processes.
  • General knowledge of food industry operations and customer service.
  • Familiarity with sales principles, customer relationship management, and marketing coordination.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and customers.
  • Competence in basic negotiation and communication practices.
  • Ability to follow company policies, regulations, and confidentiality standards.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.
  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience in Sales, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in sales support, customer service, or administrative assistance — preferably in the food industry or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database software.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and recordkeeping abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn and take on new tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the sales team in developing and maintaining relationships with current and potential customers.
  • Assists in preparing sales materials, proposals, and presentations that communicate product value and benefits.
  • Helps monitor customer accounts, ensuring orders, pricing, and promotions are accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinates with internal departments such as marketing, operations, and customer service to support sales initiatives and resolve customer inquiries.
  • Maintains organized sales records, reports, and documentation to track progress toward sales goals.
  • Provides administrative support including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and preparing reports.
  • Assists with trade shows, events, and customer visits as needed.
  • Has regular attendance and works appropriate hours to complete assigned tasks.
