About The Position

Arbor Care Specialists, a division of Glengate, is seeking an Arborist to work with our clients on high-end residential properties across Fairfield County, CT and Westchester County, NY. As an Arborist, your primary responsibility will be to cultivate and manage your designated sales territory. This role requires engaging with clients and prospects to assess and monitor landscapes, providing job estimates, and offering recommendations for needed work. You will serve as a trusted advisor to property owners, playing a key role in maintaining the health and safety of the environments you work in. Additionally, you'll organize crews, promote our safety culture, ensure quality standards are met and oversee the completion of jobs to client satisfaction. You'll also be responsible for generating referrals, networking and fostering new business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in identifying native and non-native trees of the northeastern United States, along with an understanding of their growth patterns and habitat characteristics.
  • Expertise in identifying insect type pests and diseases that affect our trees.
  • Knowledge of the soil food web, including soil texture, structure, pH and the role of macro and micro-nutrients.
  • Familiarity with proper planting techniques and cultural practices.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently
  • Collaborate with fellow team members and communicate with clients about their trees.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work outside in all (safe) weather conditions
  • Two- or four-year degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Plant Pathology, Environment Sciences, Biological Sciences, or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • ISA certification and/or state arborist licensing required within 1 year of hire date.
