Wilbur-Ellis markets and distributes agricultural products, animal feed specialty chemicals, and food ingredients. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Willingness to travel throughout the territory and to periodic sales meetings
  • Knowledge of herbicides and fertilizers (dry and liquid)
  • Developing a working knowledge of local agricultural crops and market practices
  • Proficient with computers, utilizing Microsoft Office and Windows applications
  • Agronomy/Agribusiness degree

Responsibilities

  • Manage existing and attract new customers within the sales territory.
  • Assist customers in selecting and using products based on agronomic needs.
  • Maintain and develop profitable customer relationships.
  • Identify new key customers, understand their businesses, determine their needs, and support the team in achieving sales goals and growth.
  • Assist with territory budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Follow credit policies and manage risks for the company.
  • Coordinate an annual business plan that optimizes growth and profitability for the territory and gains the manager’s approval.
  • Implement marketing and sales plans; meet sales goals; and network with industry representatives to expand sales opportunities.
  • Be the primary customer contact for deliveries, forecasting, credit, complaint handling, and custom applications, bringing issues to management's attention.
