About The Position

World Fuel is seeking a driven Sales Account Executive to accelerate growth within a defined geographic region. This role is responsible for generating, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities while building strong, lasting customer relationships. As the face of World Fuel in your market, you will identify customer needs, deliver strategic solutions, and create profitable partnerships that support long‑term growth. You will be part of a collaborative team that includes product specialists and account managers, working cross‑functionally to craft solutions involving multiple lines of business. Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless customer onboarding and high‑quality communication throughout the sales cycle.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of sales experience (outside sales preferred).
  • Self-motivated, autonomous, and comfortable working remotely or in the field.
  • Strong ability to analyze information from multiple sources and communicate insights effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Professional presence, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence decisions.
  • Team-oriented mindset with adaptability to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Customer-first approach with the ability to resolve issues quickly and professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed sales goals for new business growth within an assigned territory.
  • Manage the full business development cycle — prospecting, cold calling, lead generation, opportunity creation, closing, and onboarding.
  • Build strong customer relationships by delivering timely, confident, and solution‑focused support.
  • Lead proposal development and negotiations while navigating complex decision-making processes.
  • Analyze customer data, revenue trends, and competitive insights to identify cost‑saving and pricing opportunities.
  • Oversee new customer onboarding by collaborating with Credit, Billing, Account Management, and Customer Service teams.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales activities, and customer information.
  • Submit weekly recaps covering wins, challenges, and competitive intelligence.
  • Travel daily within your market, with up to 30% overnight travel.
