Why This Role Matters The Sale Coordinator will manage all operational aspects of Pop Culture and Private & Iconic sales, ensuring seamless execution from consignment to post-sale. This includes catalog production, compliance, client liaison, and coordination with internal teams. The role requires strong organizational skills and familiarity with pop culture trends, collectibles, and entertainment memorabilia.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; coursework in Art History, Media Studies, or Cultural Studies preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience in auction operations, gallery coordination, or entertainment collectibles.
  • Knowledge of pop culture markets (film, music, sports, gaming, comics).
  • Familiarity with authentication processes for memorabilia and collectibles.
  • Strong project management and client service skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn Christie’s systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Experience with cataloging entertainment memorabilia.
  • Knowledge of intellectual property rights and licensing.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in project management (PMP or similar) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Verify consignment details and liaise with clients for all property-related information, including “Know Your Client” compliance.
  • Oversee catalog production: coordinate photography, rights and permissions, and editorial content specific to pop culture items (e.g., celebrity memorabilia, vintage media).
  • Act as liaison with Operations for exhibition setup and sale logistics.
  • Track property receipt and resolve open issues promptly.
  • Manage restoration, framing, and authentication needs for pop culture items.
  • Coordinate shipping, export licenses, and client approvals.
  • Chair Sale Update Meetings and maintain accurate reporting in Christie’s systems.
  • Support sale activities: reserves, condition reports, client interest lists, bids, and ticketing.
  • Participate in telephone bidding during auctions.
  • Additional duties assigned by manager.
