About The Position

Safety Training Coordinator Emphasis: Industrial Clients and Municipalities QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree required. Extensive direct experience within the Career Tech system and/or industry certifications may be considered in lieu of degree (OSHA 500, 510 and/or 501 ,511 or CSHO). 3+ years' experience workplace safety training or environmental health and safety management. Excellent communication and presentation skills including writing and proofreading skills as well as verbal skills. Willingness to accept flexible work hours when necessary Must be a team player and possess a high level of confidentiality. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work for optimum outcomes. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Work closely with clients to assess current safety practices, identify potential hazards, and recommend safety training measures and practical improvements to create a safer work environment. Schedule safety training classes and workshops in cooperation with the Meridian Safety training team. This will include communicating training dates, times, materials and client information across the team. Develop and conduct safety training and workshops: Deliver engaging and informative workplace safety training sessions, educating employees on critical safety protocols and the importance of hazard awareness to the client's standard and protocols. This will comprise approximately 70% of your role. Coordinate and conduct hearing testing services for clients. This includes scheduling, hearing testing and recordkeeping. This includes operational responsibilities for the trailer and oversight of all hearing testing equipment and calibration. Stay updated on regulatory changes and best practices. Regularly review OSHA standards and industry-specific safety regulations to ensure clients' safety programs remain compliant and incorporate the latest safety trends and innovations. Interview, hire, evaluate and make suggestions for improvement regarding adjunct instructors for training programs and make sure that all necessary documentation is complete and up to date. Routinely make planned and spontaneous contacts with businesses, industries and non-profit organizations across the district to establish and maintain long-term business relationships. Inquire and maintain documentation of individual client performance and productivity goals. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all pertinent client and industry sector data. Actively participate in community, chamber and business-related events and networking organizations to build relationships and promote MTC services. Complete required reports and handle correspondence that is associated with the position, or requested by leadership, in a timely manner. Attend routine staff meetings called by leadership; report on key activities, assignments, and leading performance indicators related to achieving organizational goals and objectives. Must be able to stand on your feet and walk extended distances for up to five hours (this could be outdoors, indoors, up and down stairs, or the combination of any or all). Must be able to occasionally lift items weighing as much as 25 pounds (fire extinguishers, computers, etc) and/or push items weighing up to 50 pounds on a dolly or cart. Accept other duties as deemed necessary by the Superintendent/CEO or Executive Director of Workforce and Economic Development. Abide by all policies and procedures adopted by the MTC Board of Education. Promote MTC, its programs and employees at every available opportunity. Uphold MTC's Mission, Vision and Values.
