Performance Contracting is seeking a Safety Technician for our construction sites based in New Carlisle, IN. This individual will be responsible for the following duties: This position is safety-sensitive.

Requirements

  • OSHA 30hr preferred
  • Knowledge of construction good safety practices.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter willing to take initiative.
  • Must have provided safety oversight or similar experience.
  • Capable of spending 80% of daily time in the field with craft.
  • Able to work 40hr+ work weeks.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and labor experience in the field.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work in team environment.
  • Work well under pressure and deadline.
  • Ability to learn new safety skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught.
  • Ability to plan, execute and organize safety paperwork
  • Able to work with customers and employees, building strong relationships

Responsibilities

  • Promote safety, safe work practices and behaviors to instill an injury-free culture throughout all site and field personnel.
  • Assist branch / site with the implementation and administration of the company’s accident prevention plan, policies and procedures. Including safety resources such as training, expertise and guidance.
  • Ensure company and client safety reports and documentation are submitted timely and in accordance with client requirements and expectations.
  • Collaborate with site safety manager and field to develop and implement safety policies and procedures as necessary; monitor for effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement when necessary.
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with all trades, vendors, co-workers and customers to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Convey a professional and positive attitude as the safety representative of the jobsite and company.
  • Adopt available technology for self and others to perform job tasks efficiently.
  • Follow all site rules & guidelines.
