Performance Contracting is seeking a Safety Technician for its Las Vegas 558 operations based in Las Vegas, NV. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:

Requirements

  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience in construction safety
  • Must have OSHA 30 certification
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Displays strong verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively convey information to employees, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Able to withstand prolonged periods standing and working outside
  • Physically able to perform assigned tasks
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds independently

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
  • Degree in Occupational or Environmental Health and Safety is a plus
  • Previous experience conducting safety training is a plus
  • Local to Las Vegas, NV area

Responsibilities

  • Promote safe work practices and behaviors to instill an injury-free culture among all site and field personnel
  • Assist with the administration of PCI’s Accident Prevention Plan, policies, and procedures, on jobsites and at the branch through utilization of safety resources such as training and mitigation of unsafe practices.
  • Represent PCI and participate in Safety Committee activities
  • Assist in identifying, correcting, and mitigating routine and non-routine safety and health hazards
  • Ensure company and client safety reports and documentation are submitted on time and in accordance with client requirements and expectations
  • Coach employees to achieve compliance with accident prevention plans, policies, and procedures
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential safety health hazards
  • Conduct job site inspections and periodic audits to establish and evaluate the level of compliance
  • Responsible for investigation and evaluation of injuries and illnesses for the project site
  • Convey a professional and positive attitude as the safety representative of PCI
  • Evaluate and approve safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • This position is safety-sensitive.
