Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Able to track information and conduct audits
  • Ability to write reports and procedure manuals
  • Can effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to work well with others and achieve results through others, without having a direct line of authority over them
  • Must possess sound judgement skills, and the ability to prioritize work and deal with stress
  • This position requires an advanced knowledge of OSHA Standards and successful completion of the OSHA Authorized Instructor Course #500 and 510 for Construction and NFPA/70E classes.
  • Successful completion of 30-hour OSHA training.
  • Ability to obtain CPR and First aid training certificates.
  • 3 - 5 years of safety experience in the construction industry
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or university, preferably in Safety Engineering, or four years related experience and/or training in the safety or construction industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • This position will be 100% travel required within the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Data Center experience or background is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Experienced Safety Tech for large projects over 75 manpower and/or multiple safety techs on one project
  • Instruct the site management to identify and immediately correct unsafe working conditions or equipment.
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day safety operations on a site.
  • Lead investigations of unsafe acts/accidents to identify the root cause and corrective actions.
  • Solely responsible for monitoring and promoting on-site safety audits.
  • Works with Site management and Area Managers to ensure safety equipment/supplies are on site.
  • Monitoring site-specific injuries/accidents
  • Lead site safety meeting
  • Lead investigations and preparations for Root Cause Analysis meetings
  • Ability to train Safety Technicians I and II.
  • Can successfully manage all injuries and illnesses.
  • Directly communicated Interstates safety standards to other contractors and clients on-site and represents Interstates at client meetings.
  • Expectation is to work independently with minimal direction from safety management
