About The Position

Position Overview: Working closely with project team, the Safety Superintendent will develop and implement jobsite protocols, conduct training programs, and monitor compliance with regulations and company safety policies on an assigned project. They will assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of Safety policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations and culture throughout the organization. Essential Job Functions: Monitor the compliance of the Safety Program through review of the weekly toolbox talks, weekly inspections, monthly inspections as well as the coordination with safety consultants for site inspections. Plan and implement risk management, safety policies, manuals and procedures in compliance with all federal, state, county and local rules and regulations, including OSHA standards, to maximize a safe working environment. Identification and Coordination of necessary company “Stand Downs”. Participates in Monthly Safety Committee meetings with Division Safety Officers. Collaborate with Division Safety Officers on coordination of “New Team Member” mentorship program. Participates in the coordination of the Annual Safety Meeting and employee training with Division Safety Officers. Maintain employee training records as well as Safety Orientation for new employees. Leads job-site investigation of accidents and immediate filing of reports; help identify contributing factors and root causes, determine how they might be prevented in the future, and communicate findings Provide daily/weekly/monthly Safety updates to the Safety Managers and the Upper Management team. Maintain all jobsite safety related documentation. Establish key performance indicators to measure safety performance on the project. Provide timely and accurate safety reports to project management and senior leadership. Maintain strong working relationships with all projects and field staff to encourage open and honest communication regarding the safety program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma is required. College level classes or Associate degree preferred.
  • Industry experience in Safety Management is required.
  • Practical knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations and policies
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Computer skills MS Excel and Word software programs.
  • Efficient verbal and written communication
  • Accurate data entry and accurate calculation of mathematical problems
  • Higher level, complex analysis and interpretation required for problem solving
  • Ability to work with teams and other divisions
  • Independent judgment required using existing guidelines to determine work methods
  • Knowledge of internet research
  • Ability to develop and cultivate long-term relationships with consultants
