About The Position

Join our dynamic startup team as a Safety Specialist for second shift at GLOVIS EV Logistics America LLC. This vital role involves collaborating closely with our management team to ensure the effective implementation of safety and security policies, procedures, and programs. We are seeking a proactive professional with strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of safety and security practices, and a commitment to enhancing organizational success. This position is onsite, with hours from Monday to Friday, 2nd shift, including a one-hour lunch break.   Department: Safety/Maintenance Reports to: Safety Manager

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • 1 Year of direct safety experience
  • Field of experience: Safety, Warehouse
  • Training: Safety issue training experience
  • Certification/License: OSHA 30, AED, First Aid
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in safety management, with a proven track record of success in improving workplace safety.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and maintenance requirements, aligning with local regulations.
  • Develop and maintain health and safety management systems, training programs, and procedures in line with current legislation.
  • Design and update health and safety procedures, offering technical support to employees.
  • Investigate accidents, manage insurance claims documentation, and liaise with relevant organizations.
  • Deliver safety training programs, ensuring all employees receive proper training.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety and security incidents
  • Coordinate with construction companies for record-keeping and oversee related tasks.
  • Work with operational teams to enhance the working environment and recommend safety improvements.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with security requirements, local regulations, and logistics-related security.
  • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and address hazards.
  • Manage documentation for material handling equipment.
  • Stay informed about security, facilities management, and safety best practices, technologies, and trends.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections.
  • Represent the company at safety meetings.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement to address accidents and investigate security incidents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
