About The Position

This position is responsible for providing day-to-day safety support to construction projects. Support includes coaching, teaching, and training field personnel on safe operating behaviors. Functions as a subject matter expert and consultant to project site supervisors and project manager when needed.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • 3+ Years of experience in a Commercial Construction environment.
  • Experience in conducting audits, identifying and removing hazards, developing and presenting safety training, conducting personal exposure assessments, and developing and implements OSHA compliance programs
  • Experience in working effectively and cooperatively with employees, management team members, customers, and governmental agencies.
  • Effective Team participation
  • Ability to multi-task and solve problems.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Results oriented, self-motivated, and able to work with limited direct supervision
  • OSHA 30 (Construction)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and/or assist with ongoing safety training for employees
  • Provide additional safety training for employees reassigned to new duties. This includes ensuring that personal protective equipment is either issued or available to new hires and they are properly trained in its use BEFORE performing duties in the Company workplace.
  • Coach field supervisors on proper techniques of enforcing policy and procedures
  • Assign safety training(s) as needed
  • Assist with OSHA, and other governmental regulatory issues.
  • Conduct accident investigations and assist with the corrective action process to prevent future occurrences.
  • Ensure that all accidents, injuries, and near misses are reported by employees. Be sure that an injured employee(s) completes an incident report.
  • Conduct safety inspections of facilities, and equipment and provide documentation to the appropriate management team members.
  • Compile daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports as required.
  • Maintain Safety Supply Inventory
  • Promote a “continuous improvement” mentality, strategy, and atmosphere.
  • Effectively communicate with other departments to handle escalated issues in a timely manner.
  • Remain current with safety topics and issues related to the telecommunications industry.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers.
