About The Position

THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO LIST ALL OF THE DUTIES THAT ARE OR MAY BE PERFORMED IN THIS POSITION Primary Duties . 1. Conducts injury and vehicle incident reviews to determine root cause and necessary corrective action required to eliminate future incidents. 2. Provides guidance and direction for division employees and contractors to encourage workplace safety. 3. Observes safety practices and conditions in field locations and recommends corrections or additional precautions to help protect employees from potentially unsafe work methods and to ensure compliance. 4. Assists in the development of and conducts safety training programs. Demonstrates the use of safety equipment and facilitates numerous tests; i.e. respirator fit, hearing loss, forklift and excavation. 5. Participates in monthly safety team meetings and provides leadership training to safety team leaders to improve the effectiveness of the company's occupational safety and health efforts. 6. Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree and two years of relevant experience in the safety field; or High school education or equivalent and six years of relevant experience in the safety field.
  • Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or modifications on technical or other complex concepts to individuals
  • Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods.
  • Requires basic computer skills for data entry, reference and/or retrieval tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Office.
