Compensation Rate: $15.00/hr What you get to do: As a Senior Safety Specialist, you will Assist with developing, maintaining, and instructing EHS related training courses for ambassadors at Busch Gardens and Adventure Island. Participate in EHS inspections focusing on compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations. Conduct inspections of work areas and ambassadors for compliance, audit vehicles and equipment for inspections, review training records, and chemical inventories and proper storage. Complete daily, weekly and monthly regulatory inspections of the hazardous waste facility, collection sites, UST/AST, oil/grease containers, generators and any other potential pollution source Complete regulatory monthly sampling and reporting Collect environmental data and enter into excel or other computer software Must be able conduct all EHS classroom training sessions in compliance with OSHA standards and local, state, and federal environmental standards Develop training calendar Assist with the development of EHS projects. Participate in EHS inspections throughout the park to ensure that all departments are in compliance with company, local, state and federal environmental regulations. Develop corrective action plans and ensures completion Attend department meetings and general EHS sensitive meetings Conduct work required to maintain the hazardous waste facility and satellite accumulation sites Provide exceptional, professional guest service in a team environment. Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors, and our Guests. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, Risk Management or a related field preferred
2 years of experience in EHS or a related field preferred
Must be certified as a CPR/First Aid/AED trainer or willing to become certified.
Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License
Ability to meet company driving guidelines.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed
Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-tooverhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat.
Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, and cold/heat temperature extremes
Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals
Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities
