About The Position

The Safety Specialist is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs across the organization. This role provides technical expertise, conducts risk assessments, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements to promote a safe work environment. The Safety Specialist collaborates with site leadership and employees to drive safety initiatives, reduce workplace incidents, and build a strong safety culture. Key responsibilities include training, inspections, incident investigations, and reporting, with a focus on tactical execution and consistent application of company safety standards across all operations.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record
  • Travel required in Southern region of US (TX, FL, GA, other states as needed)
  • Associate’s degree or higher, and/or industry certifications preferred.
  • 2-4 years of EHS or relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management principles.
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of safety regulations, accident/injury prevention, and project management.
  • Ability to pass a thorough background check and pre-employment drug screen required as a condition of employment
  • Proficient in using current technology such as smartphones, tablets, Microsoft Office, and more.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Hydromax USA employees, clients, and the public in an articulate, professional manner.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and provide direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize a variety of tasks.
  • Ability to travel frequently to various project sites (approximately 25% per month)
  • Required to wear all PPE depending on circumstance which may include dust mask, safety glasses, hard hat, ear protection, safety vest and steel toed footwear.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as designated safety representative for all project within assigned region, coordinating and implementing all areas of the Company safety programs.
  • Conduct training and coach teammates on work habits in support of this effort.
  • Support management’s efforts to ensure compliance with corporate Safety Program expectations and applicable federal and state law.
  • Conduct site safety audit and inspection programs, maintaining accurate records of such audits, implementing recommendations for corrective or preventive measures when gaps or non-compliance items are discovered, and following up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks and improvement opportunities through daily, weekly and monthly audits.
  • Facilitate the incident investigation process.
  • Train and assist others in completing their Safety responsibilities
  • Travel as needed across the South region to train, coach, and conduct investigations
