About The Position

The Safety & Security Manager ensures the safety and security of our Seattle facilities. The primary focus of the role is to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, strengthen organizational safety culture, and protect people, property, and operations. The Manager partners closely with the Director of Safety to implement strategic initiatives and drive continuous improvement across the department.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in safety, security, or risk management role
  • Strong knowledge of physical security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Familiarity with OSHA, local safety regulations, security industry standards, and other regulatory standards
  • Experience conducting investigations, audits, and training
  • Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or industrial setting operations
  • Current driving license and driving record in good standing preferred
  • Able to safely work in a mix of office, warehouse, and outdoor environments and requires ability to walk, stand, climb, and inspect various facility areas
  • Must be able to read write and speak English fluently
  • Intermediate word and excel skills for correspondence and reporting duties/ pivot tables
  • Intermediate MS Outlook skills for regular communication with peers
  • Must be able to assist a diverse workforce and communicate clearly with various levels of management

Responsibilities

  • Promotes a “Safety Focused” culture throughout the company that incorporates operations, transportation, and safety
  • Operate with strong communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and innovative thinking skills
  • Oversee implementation and maintenance of corporate OSHA/WISHA safety programs, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance
  • Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action planning
  • Monitor safety metrics and prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for leadership review
  • Validate the effectiveness of corrective actions through follow‑up audits and performance checks
  • Ensure proper PPE use procedures, lockout/tagout procedures, and equipment safety standards are in place
  • Review and approve Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Safe Work Procedures
  • Facilitate safety committee meetings and ensure follow-through on action items
  • Create engaging safety campaigns, toolbox talks, and monthly themes
  • Support workers’ compensation processes with documentation, investigation, and return-to-work coordination
  • Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining oversight and accountability
  • Develop competency-based training paths for supervisors, leads, and new managers
  • Coach frontline leaders on hazard recognition, safety communication, and accountability
  • Provide safety coordinators with guidance, coaching, and standardized tools
  • Conduct performance evaluations and help shape development plans for the safety team
  • Develop, implement, and update security policies and procedures
  • Manage physical security systems including access control, surveillance, alarms, and visitor management
  • Coordinate with facilities, IT, and external vendors to maintain secure and compliant operations
  • Oversee security protocols for after‑hours access, contractor entry, and sensitive areas
  • Conduct monthly security risk assessments (patrols, access control, surveillance)
  • Creating security reports for the management on organization’s current security status
  • Respond to security incidents, conduct investigations, and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Deliver safety and security training for employees, supervisors, and new hires
  • Ensure implementation of effective facility and security management policies across the business; act as first point of contact regarding security procedures
  • Collaborate with Safety, HR, and Food Safety to develop an on-going program to ensure employee awareness and compliance to our Security policies & procedures
  • Manage contractor/vendor program by being responsible for badge issuance, visitor logs, safety induction and contractor access to ensure traceability and accountability
  • Coordinating with the external security staff to ensure company needs are met
  • Track and analyze security incident trends to improve prevention strategies
