Position Purpose The Safety and Risk Management Analyst manages and maintains risk data at the hospital, regional and corporate level for use in reporting corporate-wide risk information, trends and other information needed to support corporate goals. Under the supervision of the Director of Risk Insurance and the Director of Patient Safety, the position provides education and support to rehabilitation hospitals, as well as home office and regional staff as well as data-reporting for risk insurance purposes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree; preferably in health-related field
  • Experience in healthcare quality improvement, risk management, or clinical data analysis

Responsibilities

  • Track and trend data on near misses, adverse events, and incidents.
  • Administer RLDatix software system and other departmental safety-related systems.
  • Monitor and investigate safety reports involving patients and visitors.
  • Identify critical events and escalate to Director of Patient Safety.
  • Coordinate and facilitate patient safety programs, including risk assessments, incident reporting, and root cause analyses.
  • Provide education and resources on patient safety and risk management.
  • Collaborate with hospitals to promote safe practices.
  • Conduct audits to ensure sustainability with the Root Cause analysis action plans.
  • Assists with Patient Safety Organizations as directed
  • Monitors upcoming and released new industry safety standards, regulations, and CMS Conditions of Participation related to patient safety.
  • Assists the department with education initiatives.
  • Assist with Patient Safety Organization publication.
