SAFETY MANAGER Cleveland Construction is seeking a dependable, hard-working Safety Manager to join our commercial Construction TEAM! POSITION SUMMARY As the Safety Manager you will provide consultation and direction to field teams to ensure company programs and initiatives are implemented with the highest environmental, health, and safety standards. Ensures EH&S policies and procedures are monitored and updated to meet current business needs and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have previous commercial construction safety leadership experience OR leadership experience within commercial construction with an interest in making a transition into a safety role.

Requirements

  • OSHA 30 Required - 500 Outreach Trainer Preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a safety professional
  • Ability to Travel – 75%
  • Ability to provide confident leadership during stressful situations.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Pass E-Verify
  • Ability to pass in-depth Government criminal/financial background checks (Project Specific)
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Reliable means of transportation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication (Bi-Lingual a plus)
  • Organizational skills
  • Must have excellent computer skills
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers including iPad/tablet device
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Various Construction Management Software types, etc.
  • Working knowledge of uploading and managing web-based document storage

Responsibilities

  • Perform safety audits of the job sites to ensure compliance with all Corporate, Site-Specific as well as all Federal, State and Local requirements.
  • Respond to requests for safety and health related documentation and/or guidance with a sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines
  • Champion the Corporate safety culture in collaboration with all levels of management and workers.
  • Investigate all safety hazards and work closely with management at all levels to resolve any safety issues.
  • Ensure that all recommendations for safety improvements are made in a timely manner.
  • Complete and submit all safety visit documentation as required.
  • Drive and instill a group culture of safety that embraces continuous improvement.
  • Review documentation of Near Misses, First Aid, and Recordable Injuries - develop and enhance trainings to ensure all Near Misses/First Aids do not turn into future recordables.
