About The Position

The Safety Manager will plan, establish, and maintain all required health, safety and environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for our guest and employees. We are looking for a self-starting leader who embraces challenges and engages with key stakeholders to include Corporate Security Management, Hotel Operations, CFO, Legal, and others. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of prior relevant experience with Fire/Safety, Risk, OSHA and other related regulations required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior training facilitation experience of Safety related content preferred
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Direct implement and manage regulatory and Safety Compliance according to the Corporate Safety Audit Program.
  • Evaluates training effectiveness, tracks training compliance, and ensures all employees receive required OSHA-mandated safety training.
  • Review appropriate testing and maintenance of all fire safety equipment including fire extinguishers.
  • Serve as liaison to Corporate Security Center of Excellence, regulatory agencies and other third parties relative to safety programs.
  • Administer property safety committee meetings per regulatory guidelines.
  • Administers property observations to identify property occupational safety, Job Hazards Assessments (JHA)and health hazards.
  • Ensures property compliance of all safety violations.
  • Maintain OSHA records/logs and work closely with OSHA and Fire Department on safety inspections of the property.
  • Applies Incident Command Structure when dealing with emergencies.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management and Worker's Compensation on team member injuries and incidents.
  • Enforces all policies, fire and safety related codes, and applicable State, County, Federal laws and regulations.
  • Investigate team member incidents & injuries to ascertain causes for use in recommending preventive safety measures, corrective action, and developing safety programs.
  • Oversee the dissemination of information to department heads and management regarding hazards and other fire and safety information; maintain liaison with outside organizations.
  • Develop general facility safety policies and procedures to assist with minimizing workers' compensation expenses.
