About The Position

Huston Electric, a fourth-generation, family-owned electrical contracting company serving Indiana since 1939, is seeking a Safety Manager to join our team in Westfield, IN. We are offering a salary of $55-$60,000, and a competitive benefit package which includes paid vacation, paid company holidays, 401 (K) with company matching, pension, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage for a full-time employee. This position will report daily to our Westfield office and working hours are 7:30am-4:30pm with one hour lunch.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or related field preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction required; OSHA 500 preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of full-time construction safety experience.
  • Confident decision-maker able to challenge unsafe work and influence field crews.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Safety Management Systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and under direct supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Must pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with overall safety management for Huston Electric.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain company safety programs and policies.
  • Conduct safety meetings and training for field employees and supervisors.
  • Participate in project planning, pre-bid meetings, and closeout meetings.
  • Investigate incidents and review accident reports; track safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with other company safety directors to share best practices.
  • Ensure managers and supervisors receive proper safety and health training.
  • Inspect job sites and equipment to maintain OSHA compliance and company standards.
  • Serve as a resource for health and safety topics for employees and subcontractors.
  • Stay up to date on industry regulations and relay updates to field-level management.
  • Implement and manage Safety Management System (KPA Flex).
  • Track and document disciplinary actions for safety violations.
