About The Position
This assignment provides full-time, on-site safety leadership for renovation and new construction activities at Austal in Mobile, Alabama. The Safety Manager will support infrastructure upgrades and energy systems planning, requiring a strong field presence and hands-on involvement in daily construction safety operations.
Requirements
- OSHA 30 certification required
- Minimum of 3 years of construction safety experience
- Electrical construction or electrical safety experience required
- Strong communication, leadership, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently in an active construction environment
Responsibilities
- Maintain a consistent on-site field presence during all active work hours
- Enforce electrical safety, construction safety, and site-specific requirements
- Identify, communicate, and assist in correcting unsafe conditions or behaviors
- Conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and task-specific briefings
- Coordinate closely with site supervision and project leadership
- Complete daily safety reports, inspections, and required documentation
- Promote a proactive, people-first safety culture
