About The Position

This position provides full-time safety oversight for an iron contractor supporting the construction of an industrial manufacturing facility in Cincinnati, OH. The Safety Manager will oversee safety operations related to steel fabrication and steel installation activities, helping ensure compliance with OSHA standards, site-specific safety requirements, and client expectations on an active industrial construction project. The Safety Manager will work closely with field crews, site leadership, and contractors to identify hazards, enforce safe work practices, and support safe execution of structural steel and industrial construction activities. This role requires a strong field presence and the ability to lead safety efforts in a hands-on environment involving ironwork, fabrication, and installation operations.

Requirements

  • CHST and/or CSP required
  • 3-5 years of safety experience required
  • Strong field safety experience required
  • Industrial experience required
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards
  • Strong field presence and ability to influence safe work practices
  • Comfortable working in active industrial construction environments
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with field leadership
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and hazard mitigation capabilities
  • Ability to support both temporary project needs and potential long-term transition to full-time employment
  • Strong working knowledge of construction and industrial safety standards
  • Experience supporting steel fabrication, steel erection, and contractor operations
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and field presence
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced industrial construction environments
  • Ability to identify hazards and implement corrective actions proactively
  • Expertise in OSHA construction standards, hazard recognition, industrial safety practices, and safe execution of steel fabrication and installation activities on active industrial construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily safety operations for steel fabrication and installation activities
  • Enforce OSHA standards, site safety programs, and client safety protocols
  • Conduct site orientations, safety inspections, and daily field audits
  • Identify hazards and implement corrective actions to support safe work execution
  • Assist with incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and corrective action follow-up
  • Review safety documentation, reports, and compliance records for accuracy and completeness
  • Support field leadership in maintaining safe work practices during structural steel operations
  • Lead or assist with safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee coaching as needed
  • Coordinate with supervisors, project management, and contractors to mitigate hazards and maintain compliance
