About The Position

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for coordinating, planning, and managing all environmental, health, and safety programs at the Carlisle Architectural Metals manufacturing facility in Arden, NC. This role partners closely with site leadership, business unit directors, Regional Safety Specialists, and the Sr. Manager, EHS to proactively prevent injuries and health impairments, ensure regulatory compliance, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance. Standard working hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime and weekend work as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer applications and systems.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and manufacturing plant safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of CPR and First Aid.
  • Understanding of quality control principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing or processing environment.

  • Professional EHS certification (e.g., CSP, CIH).

Responsibilities

  • Communicate regularly with CAM Regional Safety Specialists and site operations leadership.
  • Serve as the primary EHS advisor to site leadership, supervisors, safety committees, and hourly associates.
  • Support the Plant Manager with site-level strategic planning, including analysis of leading and lagging safety indicators and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Act as a behavior-based safety (BBS) coach and mentor, promoting safety tools, concepts, and a proactive safety mindset.
  • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve site safety plans, EHS standard work, and Carlisle safety programs.
  • Conduct safety standard work assessments, PPE assessments, ergonomic evaluations, and policy audits.
  • Plan, manage, and execute targeted environmental, health, and safety projects throughout the facility.
  • Review and update safety policies and procedures to align with company objectives and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Develop and deliver safety training, onboarding, mentoring programs, and BBS observations.
  • Review safety-related documentation, including safety committee minutes, inspection reports, forklift checklists, accident investigations, and near-miss reports.
  • Lead, track, and review site-level incident investigations to identify root causes, trends, and ensure corrective action completion.
  • Maintain OSHA 300 logs; track OSHA recordable incidents, rates, and trends.
  • Report safety performance metrics regularly to Divisional EHS Leadership.
  • Serve as the site liaison with regulatory agencies in accordance with company policy and statutory requirements.
  • Chair the site safety committee and participate in required management meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee training, workplace inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Submit required EHS documentation to the corporate office for recordkeeping.
  • Conduct and maintain weekly, monthly, and annual safety inspections.
  • Oversee hazardous material management and inspections of hazardous material storage areas.
  • Manage EHS tasks using the EHS digital platform (Gensuite).
  • Manage and support EHS ISO programs, including ISO 14001.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
