About The Position

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and protocols across commercial construction projects. This role ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. The Safety Manager leads safety initiatives, conducts inspections and audits, investigates incidents, and collaborates with project teams and subcontractors to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management or a similar role within commercial construction.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and hazard mitigation practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading safety programs and mentoring field personnel and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and safety management software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and clients.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, CSP, NEBOSH, or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards, ensure compliance, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; document findings and implement preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, including incident reports, inspection checklists, training records, and compliance documentation.
  • Lead safety training programs for field personnel, subcontractors, and new hires to promote a culture of safety.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
  • Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and management to address safety concerns and implement improvements.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and project safety briefings.
  • Track and report safety performance metrics to senior management, recommending process improvements as needed.
