About The Position

SRM Concrete is seeking a Safety Manager to join our team in the Richmond, Virginia region. As a Safety Manager at SRM Concrete, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our company's safety initiatives and overall culture. Working as an individual in the region, and also part of a larger safety team that serves SRM Concrete in 23 states, you will be at the forefront of promoting a culture of safety as you partner with team members and management regionally, and across the country. Requirements

  • Ability to work independently in the Richmond region.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Five years of related experience in a safety or management role.
  • Capable of conducting inspections and carrying equipment
  • Comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
  • Comfortable and physically able to visit and work at concrete plants and mines on a routine basis

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of our sites to identify hazards and safety risks
  • Coordinate and manage all motor vehicle accident management processes within the assigned region
  • Coordinate and manage all worker’s compensation claims within the assigned region
  • Develop and implement inspection policies, procedures, and a schedule of routine inspection
  • Create and implement short and long term safety strategies to build a culture of safety in the organization
  • Schedule and conduct training covering emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
  • Monitor compliance with safety procedures and document inspection findings in comprehensive reports.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
